Message from the founder
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I’m thrilled to share the journey of the Nuru Women Project, which began as a heartfelt idea and has grown into a transformative community force. After retiring from over 30 years in teaching, I found a new calling in supporting blind individuals, often left without essential skills for independence. By opening my home, I provided not only care but also skills training, starting with basic hand-sewing of sweaters, scarves and sanitary pads to empower them toward financial independence.
As we expanded to machine-based production, our inclusive workshop became a hub of growth and empowerment. Despite challenges, every success story reaffirms our mission. We aim to empower more visually impaired women and create a thriving community with your support.
Thank you for standing with us on this journey of empowerment and inclusion.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth Naika- Founder and Director
